I’m Aditya, a Software Engineer at Propheus. I work with cloud infrastructure & AI systems. This is my corner of the internet.
Why This Blog Exists
My father always writes these wonderfully amusing novels, stories, poems etc. I always wondered if I could write something too. Can I write something on my own? I thought I wouldn’t have anything interesting to write about or rather, that no one would read what I have to say.
But I do articulate my thoughts. I write research notes, programming ideas, chess variations, and personal experiences in Obsidian. I write film reviews on Letterboxd. I even leave long Reddit comments about things that interest me. But for a long time, I wanted to write more publicly about software, tools I use, LLMs, things I learn, chess, films and much more.
Then I stumbled upon this blog post that finally pushed me to stop overthinking and just start.
What I’ll Write About
- Engineering: Cloud infrastructure, tools I use
- AI & LLMs: Experiments, learnings, ideas
- Personal: Productivity, journaling, what I’m learning
- Chess: Tactics, games, strategy
- Films: Reviews and thoughts on cinema
Creating vs. Consuming
For the past year, I’ve been on a journey to reclaim my attention.
I quit social media - Instagram & Twitter specifically, exactly one year ago and started interstitial journaling, which helped me procrastinate less and keep track of things daily.
This blog is part of that journey. It’s long-term dopamine against short-term scrolling. Creating rather than consuming. It’s thinking out loud. It’s learning in public.
What’s Next
I don’t know if anyone will read this. That’s okay I guess. Writing exercises my brain better than scrolling ever did. Anything I create will be better than mindless consumption.
If you’re reading this: welcome. Let’s see where this goes.
